Drivers Education (DE) also known as High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) Events are defined as a
continuous lap driving event on an approved motorsports course. Passing is to be permitted only as allowed by the
event chairman. These laps are to be untimed, as these events are intended to be instructional only, with no competition.
If this is your first time, please read Welcome to Driver's Ed.
Follow the instructions on the events page to sign up for Driver Education events.
You will receive notice if your registration was received too late to be accepted. If you have not pre-registered, check the
Forum for notice that the event is full before going out to the track the morning of the event.
Everyone is welcome unless the event specifically states it is for PCA members only.
See the Flyer on the events page for detailed registration rules and details.
Unless otherwise stated, all makes and models are welcome at our events as long as we deem them safe for the track.
We also have other driving events that you may find to be fun. Driver's Ed is designed for the
Porsche owner who may have participated in some rallies or autocrosses
and now wishes to experience driving their car on the race track.
Participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of their own Porsche in a controlled, closed-circuit
environment and will gain the skills that will enhance safer vehicle operations in all driving situations.
Drivers Ed is the first step towards Time Trials and then Club Racing if desired.
Introductory Driving School
Drivers who have never driven on a race track are required to attend a mandatory Introductory Driving School.
The school teaches you basic driving theory and gives you some practical experience developing car control through a
series of classroom and driving exercises.
Driver Education Track Program
We conduct our driver education program on race tracks in a controlled and safe environment. Our program is designed
to afford participants the opportunity to develop car control skills in an organized manner.
The purpose of the LVR Driver’s Education Program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment.
The program is designed so that the participants can improve their driving abilities and acquire a better understanding of vehicle
dynamics and high performance driving safety. If you have any questions regarding any part of this program,
please contact any of the Driving Officials listed or the Event Chairman.
It is important to note that LVR Driver Education is not racing, nor any form of competition.
There are plenty of other venues if you wish to drive competitively like Autocross,
Time Trials and Club Racing. The Drivers Ed program is not one of them.
